Clarity on what is done

Organisations helping children in Rwanda

Many organisations say what they want to do teoretically. Not quite as many are clear about their actual activities. Here are listed some that are pretty clear.

ABADACOGORA ET INTWARI (Nyarugenge)

Tries to get children off the streets in Kigali by providing food, a place to stay and housing and school for some.

AGAHOZO SHALOM YOUTH VILLAGE - ASYV

A village for orphaned youth, with education, health center and counceling.

CARITAS

Caritas has many small and large projects aimed to assist the poor and vulnerable. The focus on various issues like: health, poverty, food security, exposed groups etc.

CENTRE PRESBYTERIEN D'AMOUR DES JEUNES - CPAJ (Kicukiro)

Center for streetchildren, where they assist with school fees, housing, re-unification, teahes trades and tries to find the employment for the youth.

FIDESCO (Kigali, Gasabo)

The centre Cyprien and Daphrose Rugamba gives children a place to stay and tries to reunited them with their parents.

KU BAKIRA (Nyarugenge)

Street children can be there and play during the day and they give meal.

MAREMBO CENTER (Kigali )

The Marembo center has a home for street children. It is also open for youth to develop skills and has an on-line shop to sell what they produce.

MOTHER TERESA'S ORPHANAGE (Nyarugenge)

Orphanage for app. 123 babyies and children.

Rwanda Association des Enfants et Jeunes Travailluers de Rusizi - AEJTR/RCYWA (Kamembe, Rusizi)

AEJTR helps homeless children and youth in Rusizi and offers scholarships and teaches trades to the youth.

RWANDA RED CROSS - RRC (All districts)

Helps the most exposed, such as orphans, HIV infected and victims of natural disasters, though community work and local participation.

THE RWANDA ORPHANS PROJECT - ROB (Kanombe, Kigali)

Orphanage and a center for street children where they provide housing, clothing, food, health care, education and many other needs to nearly 100 vulnerable children.

Aid Evaluator seeks volunteers to help find information about organisations.

To gather all of the information needed to help people, all over the world, volunteers play an essential role at Aid Evaluator. The hope is that ordinary, as well as extraordinary, people will become responsible for their local area. Being responsible means updating the site on the available offers of help and trying to keep this information updated.

Aid Evaluator does not want you money, it wants your backing and your specific knowledge, about projects that help.

Furthermore, Aid Evaluator needs publicity. If people can neither find the help they seek, nor add information about the projects they know of, simply because they are not aware of the existence of Aid Evaluator; it won't do much good.

So do spread the word though Facebook, for instance. The Charity Review is the same as Aid Evaluator only focused on Denmark; to get at least one country to work. The idea cannot work without massive support.

Aid Evaluator

The aid of today is too fragmented, too complex, and often even too inefficient. It is not only big organizations who need to change this; we all need to chip in.

Help has to be easier to find, no matter where you are.

Knowledge about those who offer help has to be available and relevant to the user.

The site can only work if people everywhere add small bits of information.
