The Rwandan Orphans Project

 

Centre for Street Children (ROP)

 

The ROP is an orphanage and a center for street children located just outside of Kigali, Rwanda. We provide housing, clothing, food, health care, education and many other needs to nearly 100 vulnerable children from around Rwanda.

 

 

Services at ROB

• Food, clothes and shoes, healthcare and toiletries to around 100 boys
• Primary education to 60 boys at our in-house primary school
• The school fees for 30 boys to study at secondary schools around Rwanda
• The fees for 10 of our boys to study at vocational schools around Rwanda
• Sports clubs including football and volleyball
• After-school activities such as computer classes and art classes
• A large library full of books for all ages in English and French
• Employ a former resident of the ROP Center in our Quilting Project. He makes beautiful quilts which we sell around Rwanda
• Pay the secondary school fees of ten girls from the profits of our Quilting Project
• Allow 20 local children – who could not otherwise afford to attend school – to go to our primary school free of charge

• To provide shelter, food, water, education and health care to the homeless orphans and other vulnerable children of Rwanda
