Project supporting the fight against digital gap (ADEN) has been set up in 11
French, English, and Portuguese sub-Saharan African-speaking countries from by the
International Cooperation of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its goals are to
democratise Internet access, train people in the use of new technology, and encourage
the African production of content.
The main ADEN centres are Bambari “Ouaka,” Bangassou, Berberati, Bouar, and Mbaiki “Wambangana.

We try to create a fun and informative network between asylumseekers, former refugees, danes, International people etc. We also like to help newcommers and solve problems of just about any kind. We meet informally, chat and help each other, play games and eat snacks or meals when someone cooks. Sometimes there is also education in danish, tigrinya, math and other information, depending on the day.

Besøgstjenesten af 1957 er den ældste besøgstjeneste i Aalborg. Alle der er ensomme kan kontakte os her, så hjælper vi med at finde en kontaktperson.
A visit service is a group of people who volunteer to go visit elderly people that are lonely. The visit service of 1957 is the oldest visit service in Aalborg. Anyone who feels lonely can contact us or ask someone to contact us.

We have ladies who knit warm clothes, people who visit each other in the Visit service, an integration group that maches Danes with former refugees, health care workers and 4 second-hand shops, and much more. All the activities are run by volunteers, who are always needed and welcome in the Information booth at Nykærvej 43, to hear where they might fit in.

Besøgstjenesten - Røde Kors Aalborg
Besøgstjenesten finder en besøgsven til ældre eller andre, der har svært ved at komme rundt uden hjælp. De har p.t. ca. 95 besøgsmodtagere og samme antal besøgsvenner.
En gang imellem er der også udflugter man kan melde sig til sammen med sin besøgsven.

We interview both asylum seekers and Danes and try to make the best matches with the information provided. The aim is to make friendships and network. The groups has been a bit slow to match, due to a lack of Danes to match with but if you are Danish it should not take long to find you a match.

Besøgstjeneste ved Aalborg Universitetshospital
Som frivillig yder du et tilbud til patienter eller pårørende ud over de professionelle tilbud fra hospitalet. Det kan fx være samtaler, at gå en tur eller hente ting i kiosken. Det kan også være som besøgsven for patienter uden netværk eller med pårørende der kommer langvejs fra. Du kan fx sidde hos en patient og læse højt af aviser eller blade og være med til at hygge om patienterne ved fællesspisning. Frivillige hjælper også til som bisiddere, underholder børn, udlåner bøger m.m.

Samaritterne - Røde Kors Aalborg
Samaritterne er både en indkomstgenerende aktivitet i Aalborgs Røde Kors. Det var dem der startede Røde Kors op i Aalborg og udover at tjene penge ved at tage ud til sportsstævner og musikarrangementer, så oplærer de også ny indenfor faget. Alle samaritterne, der sendes ud er godt trænede indefor førstehjælp.

Her sælges alt fra tøj, porcelæn og møbler til alverdens småting. Vi har også en infobutik og foldere over alle vores mange aktiviteter i Aalborg.

Julehjælp i Aalborg Røde Kors
Røde Kors julehjælpen bliver i år udbetalt via Aalborg kommune. Det betyder at alle ansøgere skal henvende sig til deres sagsbehandler i kommunen.
Der kan ikke søges julehjælp direkte hos Røde Kors Aalborg.

In Aalborg Save the Children has a family club with room for 40 members. You can go on trips to the Farm Fun Park, the firestation etc. all including food is free.

The centre is run by Evode Usbyamahoro , who grew up a street child himself, and his wife Rebecca Ubaka U Rwanda is run by a loving couple, that have taken in streetchildren and help them, by providing a safe place to sleep, play and learn. They also try to get scholarships but rely on private donations and sponsorships.

They try to provide each child with basic health care assurance, schoolfees, a bed and food.

They try to find money to enter the children into school and get them books, scholbags and uniforms etc.

Mother Teresas is right in the center of Kigali. At 15 every day they serve food to the poor people who come to ask for food. The serve porridge etc. and on Sundays and sometimes Saturdays they get bread. The center is big and it is houses many elderly people or people with either physical or psycological problems. Their orphanage has been closed down by the government, due to a new policy but the still have 8 heavily handicapped children who they have not been able to find foster homes for.

They have some classes to teach the children who cannot afford to attend school. At least I think so - I'm sure.
