  • Nyarugenge is one of the 3 districts in Kigali. According to Nyarugenges district website: "It has an area of 134 km2 with a population of 236,990. It is made up of 10 Sectors, 47 Cells and 355 quarters (Imidugudu). About 86 % of its surface is rural and little populated. Another part of the City, which is smaller, that is 14 %, is densely populated with 1500 inhabitants per km2". It is a vibrant area with many different people living peacefully together. The main problems are poverty, prostitution, exposed children, uncared for people with dissabilities and unemployment.

  • Rubavu is one of the most beautiful places in Rwanda, by lake Kivu and close to natural parks and the DRC. Many refugees from DRC enters here and through the years the area has been affected by the turbulant relationship between fractions in the DRC and Rwanda. Most people in Rubavu support themselves through small scale agriculture and small businesses.
