Umwana ni uw’umuryango

Children in Rwanda are remarkably happy and kind. Most do however suffer from poverty and many have trouble paying, for what is needed to attend school. In addition many suffer from water realted diseases and poor nutrition. There are also those who are being abused and mistreated as children do are not always well respected. The GoR aims to close down all government supported orphanages by 2016 and find Rwandan foster parents for orphans. If they cannot find foster parents for the children they will be sent to the re-education schools, which used to be for delinquents but now there are more places than the most famous one at Iwawa island.

This page aims to list Rwandan Organisations dealing with Street Children and other organizations helping children in general.

Volunteers are needed to help maintain this page.
