MIGEPROF
The Ministry of Gender, Familiy and Child Protection
The Ministry of Gender and Family Protection is the Government agency in charge of protecting children in Rwanda. Apart from the government run facilities for orphans and former street children, which it is trying to dezentralize to local authorities; MIGEPROF generally coordinates activities between government agencies, NGOs and INGOs. In some cases, it also offer some funding for orphanages and centers for street children.

- Assists with information gathering and with making reports from relevant data
- Assists with funding to places for vulnerable children
Purpose
- The mandate of MIGEPROF in the promotion and protection of children’s rights is to put in place and to coordinate the implementation of policies and programs, to ensure protection of rights for all children, including the most vulnerable, in order to facilitate their integration into a socially and economically stable community
